As we worked on our opinion writing last week, I realized that our class doesn't really know how to even state an opinion correctly, much less write a paper on it. After that revelation I decided we needed to write one paper together with an opinion that I chose, so we could see what an opinion paper should look like. We read about turkeys a couple of days before writing and took notes on the information we found. Next, we started a letter (our class paper) to Farmer Gray stating that we did not think we should be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner. I've posted a picture below to demonstrate our final product. After writing the letter, the class then each received a blank turkey template with the directions to disguise the turkey so that Farmer Gray wouldn't be able to tell it was a turkey, thus saving its life. As you can see, we have a very creative and talented class! Stop by our classroom and take a look!
